Tom Brady's Retirement Arc Has Officially Entered Its Fake Feud Era

Okay, we get it Tom. Retirement is boring. You spent two decades getting hit by 300 pound men for a living, and suddenly your Tuesday consists of... what, golf? Broadcasting? Minority ownership meetings? No wonder Tom Brady has apparently decided his post football legacy project is starring in a slap fight rom com with Logan Paul. This is almost similar to Dancing with the Stars.

If you missed the gist, here is the recap: Brady squared up on Paul at a fan festival and gave a fake slap across the face like a Bond villain settling a card game dispute (lol). Then he showed up to a WWE style entrance climbing out of a casket, doing his best Undertaker cosplay, fists raised like he had just won a Super Bowl instead of, checks notes, exited a box.

And then, as the crown jewel, he and Paul sat together at the World Cup Final and flipping the bird at eachother for the cameras like two guys who just discovered what a camera is, oh please!

This is not a feud. This is a marketing funnel. Somewhere, a WWE executive is watching this footage the way a fisherman watches a trout practically leap into the boat. Here is the thing though: we kind of love it, and also kind of cannot watch.

Main Character Energy

Brady spent his entire playing career being the most disciplined human alive. TB12. Zero personality on purpose. A guy so calculated he reportedly would not do a commercial unless his offensive linemen got paid too. And now he is out here cosplaying a wrestler and getting into staged slap fights with a YouTuber turned boxer at a "World's #1 Sports Fan Festival," which is a real name for a real event, apparently.

Is it a bit? Obviously. Is it also deeply, deeply funny to watch the most controlled athlete of his generation lose the plot in real time on main character energy? Anyway, what do we know? Everything is entertainment these days.
